e10 / The Photographer's Eye
You are to read John Szarkowski's introduction for "The Photographer's Eye"; a catalog published in 1966 that documents the photography show he currated for the Musuem of Modern Art in 1964.
The text can be found here and the images from the catalog can be viewed here
You are asked to produce (or find from your archive) 1 photo for each category from the reading. These photographs must be yours, though you can choose images that you have produced at an earier time:
- The Thing Itself
- The Detail
- The Frame
- Time
- Vantage Point
Insert:
Insert these images into your psd template (make sure to apply the same layer style to each image)
With 1 image visible and corresponding to its text layer, Save As:
lastname_the-thing-itself.tif
And so on for each of the 5 images. You will have 5 flattened tif files.
(save your psd template, but don't turn it in again to me).
Multi-page PDF:
You will then create a multi-page pdf file using Adobe Acrobat. I will demo this in class.
Turn in as:
folder: lastname_e10
lastname_the-thing-itself.tif
lastname_the-detail.tif
lastname_the-frame.tif
lastname_time.tif
lastname_vantage-point.tif
lastname_e10.pdf
* 6 files will be turned in for this assignment
